Meet Dr Eileen Haworth

Dr. Haworth has been in practice for more than thirty five years. She graduated from the Southern California University of Health Science (formerly the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic)

Dr. Haworth practices with her husband Dan Altchuler, DPM, a Podiatrist, in Santa Monica, CA. Their practice specializes in injuries and gait disorders of active, athletic people. Her work with Dan and other Podiatrists has lead her to extensive knowledge and treatment of gait problems.

In 1982, she entered the selection process of the United States Olympic Committee for the Medical staff for the Olympics in 1984. She worked at a number of USOC sponsored events over the next two years. She was honored as the first Chiropractor to serve as a member of the U.S. Olympic Team Medical staff. At the Summer Games in 1984 she treated athletes from almost every Olympic sport. She worked with the USOC for a total of seven years.

Dr Haworth has had a lifelong passion for animals. She has been competing in dog agility for more than seventeen years.

In 2002 she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and given a 10% chance of survival. So, after treatment, she entered into the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association’s certification program.  In 2004 she was certified as an animal chiropractor by the AVCA (www.animalchiropractic.org). She carries her interest in gait into her work with animals and dog sports. For more information, please visit www.K9Chiro.com.  She’s healthy now, many years later.

In 2015 she was honored by the American Chiropractic Board of Chiropractic Sports Physicians with an Outstanding Achievement Award for her pioneering contribution to Chiropractic Sports Medicine. Eileen and Dan happily reside with their pack of dogs, 4 Border Collies and a Westie, in Topanga, CA.
